Since a lot of MDD girls joined recently, I was itching to pick up some cute new outfits for them. The hand-made sets I got from Mujia Sasato on Booth were great but I also wanted to check out new shops on Taobao. I ordered from some shops I hadn’t tried before, so here’s a quick appraisal of the outfits I received. Apologies if I mangle the shop names, it’s hard to figure out the ‘real’ name since the URL, logos and translations are all inconsistent. I can’t comment on delivery time since I ordered some pre-order items that made my whole order take a few months to be completed and shipped.
UDollHouse aka Blue Moon’s Dollhouse: Sailor Girl Dress and Blue ribbon shoes
MSDoll aka Elvis Squirrel: Cute braided short curl wig
I got my custom DDH-03 Leo to test out this cute combo. The dress is well made but I was a bit worried about stains from the blue collar so I put her in a body suit.
Side note: this is the newer v2 bodysuit and I’m not too wild about it- the seams on the neck are too visible, and one of the thigh seams split open as I was dressing her in it. Too bad I didn’t try it out as soon as it arrived, ugh.
As for the dress itself, it’s well made and fits nicely. There’s an apron attached with buttons on the front, and the rear bustle attaches with a pin. Unfortunately the dress itself also fastens with tiny real buttons in the back, a hassle for less dexterous fingers.
The shoes are by far my favorite yet from Taobao, just adorable, well made and adjustable for a nice fit.
As for the wig, it’s less flexible due to the glued-on braid but a really lovely pale-pink color and otherwise great for the price.
DollSolo aka Solo Heaven: Pink Princess Dress
I’ve really enjoyed the super fluffy M+V Studio princess dress I picked up a while back, so I was looking for a similar (but cheaper) style. This one is really well made with good quality trims and nice details. It includes the pearly crown and a big detachable wired bow for the back. Downside is that the fastenings on the back are lace-up so you’ll need to undo and relace whenever you’re swapping out the dress. Actually I ended up pulling the torso apart to dress her, but that’s probably not necessary.
The crown has a comb to secure it to the wig but I had a hard time keeping it in place without totally messing up the hair style. Definitely not viable for pulled-back wigs like ponytails and braids. It’s also quite heavy so posing without the crown falling off was tricky.
The list of items included in the set says ‘panties’ but I didn’t receive any. It doesn’t mention the detached sleeves, so maybe that’s the mixup? I couldn’t find any photos on the listing for panties with this set so I wasn’t expecting them anyway, just a heads up.
Hui Store aka Little Grey Shop: Blue Alice Set
This was the most expensive set in the bunch. It comes with lots of cute accessories including a fluffy bunny hood (not pictured). The laceup socks are extremely adorable, and the fluffy pouchette is super soft – it feels like real rabbit fur, and in fact if that’s a concern I’d advise asking the seller to confirm. The dress itself is the 1/4 size option and the fit on mine seems looser than the pictured one on MDD. The chains on the headband also appear shorter than the product photos. Overall a very nice set, but if I order again I’d ask if they can tailor it more slim and a bit shorter for MDD.
And that’s it for the outfits! I also picked up a few more wigs and resin accessories that I’ll review later if I get a chance. Thanks for reading!
