This summer was pretty quiet on the custom front as I was dealing with home repairs and my usual workspace was stuffed with relocated furniture. Still, I was able to get a couple more faceups completed despite the mess.
First up was DD Erica Fontaine as Nozomi from Love Live – you might recognize her since this is a re-do of an old faceup that developed cracks. Since then I’ve been careful to avoid using MSC during the cold, humid winter months here and I haven’t had any more issues.
I also got a chance to paint DD Haruhi Suzumiya as Ochaco Uraraka from My Hero Academia. Haruhi is an older sculpt but I really like her mischievous look! She’s also on the smaller side for DD heads, so I thought she looked best on DDS or MDD.
And a bonus faceup-
I also customized and modded a spare DD DWC01 head as a bit of a warmup for the other two. However I’m not super happy with how the mouth mod turned out, so I may go rework it at some point. I was hoping to make her look like DD Manaka, but if I make the mouth bigger I’ll have to revise my plans. For now she’s just going to chill with her chipmunk mouth for a bit!
