~ For the revolution of the world! ~
One cannot have a Rose Bride without a Prince, and now she’s here! Utena arrived shortly after Anthy and so I got her set up in her default outfit in short order.
Utena comes with her standard duelist outfit and a full sized Sword of Dios. Unlike the Azone Utena, the outfit doesn’t convert into her school uniform. She also comes with a pair of sword-holding hands (one special hand has her ring attached) as well as a separate ring that can be used on other hands.
Utena’s outfit makes me a bit more wary of stains than Anthy’s. Her shorts and jacket are lined, but the lining isn’t white and there’s still some unprotected areas. The socks aren’t lined at all. The white ruffled bit is actually a sleeveless undershirt that protects most of her torso but the arms and neck are still a bit iffy. At least her wig cap isn’t black, but it’s dark enough that there could be yellowish stains if head protection isn’t used. Not exactly a stain monster set, but worth being cautious. My plan is to switch her to an old body and use a high-necked bodysuit to mitigate staining.
Utena is on DD body versus Anthy on DDS, but because of Anthy’s heels the height difference isn’t very much. Utena also has the ‘large’ style hand sculpts which work well for more masculine characters, and I know some folks don’t like them but here they seem to work nicely.
Overall Volks did an excellent job on both Utena and Anthy and I’m excited to add them to my collection!
“Should I tell her that I’m already engaged…?”
