~ Boys are back in town ~
Once again Volks International created an online event for D’Coords, and this time I was lucky enough to bring home a DDH-26 boy. He’s using the DDB body in SWS, and has the M01 style faceup with red eyes and a shaggy grey wig. Like my previous online D’Coord, it’s the exact same look as Volks listed (not randomized eyes/wig).
He arrived with a midnight blue tuxedo set, but the dark colors combined with difficult-to-replace boy parts made me nervous and I opted to put him in the bunny outfit instead. His wig is one of the newer boyish styles – it’s a bit long in the front and the wefts are too thin on top, but at least it has a light-colored fabric cap. He arrived with the bigger style hands, but I swapped him to regular hands to more easily fit the gloves.
Previously I had a DDS Boy in the form of Len Kagamine, but I ended up rehoming the DDSB body since it’s too tricky to clothe and it just didn’t fit into my collection that well. DDB seems more versatile so far and if nothing else can easily cross-dress with more girlish outfits and still have a decent fit.
The leggy DDB body isn’t for everyone, but it’s a good match for some classic bishonen types like Sesshomaru so I wouldn’t write it off completely. I was on the fence about entering for this guy since I’m already planning to bring home Kaito, but I think I’ll have fun with two boys who can interact with each other for some cute photoshoots.
I won’t go into a lot of comparisons and posing tests since those are plentiful, but overall the DDf-3 DDB is a good option for a slender anime fella if you can snag one from an event or Dream Choice. I’m looking forward to trying a few different styles and seeing if the DDH-26 would look cute as a girl as well.
