My latest faceup project is ready for her reveal! We’re starting to get some spring weather here, so I rushed at the opportunity to start sealing some heads for faceups. Fortunately the weather had a few more good windows and I was able to finish up my first project for 2022 this weekend. Rina has…
~ Dream Choice of my own ~ During my 2018 trip to Tokyo I was able to create my own Dream Choice doll. Since then I’ve picked up a few Dream Choice exclusives second hand, and even created a guide for Dream Choice in Japan. Eventually I decided I was ready to build another custom…
Cute Redux – Emilia’s Return I’ll confess this isn’t the first time Emilia was welcomed to the Doll Lab- I originally got V1 Emilia through the Volks lottery without any issue as she wasn’t too popular at the time. I thought she had potential for a custom project but didn’t do that or much of…

She’s been repainted to look like Kotori Minami from the Love Live anime. I’m not too familiar with the anime but I think she’s really cute! And Kizuna’s sculpt is a good fit for…
One last faceup from the early summer batch – I did another DDH-16 custom, this time a pouty boyish dragon themed head. It’s fun to work on two of the same sculpt simultaneously since it’s easier to see how much difference the faceup painting has on expression and mood! Since I decided to rehome…
For my next faceup project, I decided to repaint my student Mariko head. I’ve painted a custom Mariko before but my own Mariko ended up in the faceup backlog until now. Before and after I ended up fussing a bit more with this one after I thought I was done also- I realized…
Spring is here, which means it’s time to go back and collect the last of the winter photos. As usual these have mostly appeared already on Instagram, and will eventually make their way to the local gallery as well. Speaking of which, I’ve been gradually adding more and more pages to the gallery (sorted by…
